On a number of occasions we have been asked to compare and contrast the efficacy and costs of Agrostim TM versus Urea. Such comparisons are generally of limited scientific value because the two products are so very different. Urea is a chemical or synthetic fertilizer used as a source of Nitrogen only. Urea is a major fertilizer throughout the world and provides an essential single component of the plant nutrition's "big 3", the NPK. These three elements, Nitrogen-Phosphorous-Potassium, are commonly termed the "essential macronutrients" for agricultural usage. Being a synthetic fertilizer, the overall "quality" of Urea supplied to agricultural nations varies from source to source. In the manufacture of Urea, contaminants or impurities called "biurets" are found; many sources of "cheap" Urea contain high levels of these biurets which are toxic agents. Currently Urea marketed overseas contains many times the levels of these "biurets" than would be allowed in the United States. Additionally, simply comparing the price of Urea completely ignores the price of other fertilizers that are used simultaneously with Urea, namely the phosphate and potash fertilizers. In 1993-94 alone, Asia imported 5,621,634 million metric tons of potash and 4,865,446 million metric tons of phosphate, the costs of which are simply ignored yet present a real picture of the real costs involved. Agrostim TM, on the other hand, was developed by a company that produces "state of the art" enzyme technology for the remediation of environmental hazardous wastes. This in-depth capability and knowledge in enzymology integrates the absolute importance of all primary, secondary and micro-nutrients for optimal plant health, growth, vigor and maximal yields via stable and sustainable agricultural ecosystems. Agrostim TM is an organic or natural based agricultural formulation containing over 130 primary and secondary elements, enzymes & coenzymes, amino acids, naturally occurring root and foliage growth promoters, vitamins, carbohydrates, essential for nodule formation on legume roots. Sulfur is present in oil compounds responsible for the characteristic odors of plants such as garlic and onion. To attempt to equate the numerous positive advantages of the Agrostim TM formulation to a single macro-fertilizer in vacuo is to compare two products that are not comparable in a meaningful way. The following documentation clearly shows the absolute superiority of Agrostim TM over Urea. AgroStimTM -vs- Urea
A healthy plant/crop needs all kinds of nutrient inputs. Urea provides primarily ONLY 1 of the 3 major nutrients a plant/crop needs, Nitrogen. It does not contain the other 2 major nutrients, Potassium and Phosphorous which must be added in addition to Urea when one uses Urea as fertilizer. On the other hand, Agrostim TM contains the essential plant nutrients - Nitrogen, Potassium, Phosphorous; the secondary plant nutrient - Sulfur, Calcium, Magnesium, and the most important micro-nutrients including Iron, Manganese, Boron, Copper, Zinc, Chlorine, Molybdenum….etc. over 200 ingredients. No addition nutrient is needed when Agrostim TM is in use. AgrostimTM
